686 + 6" what an accurate Gun! Yes a little heavy but with Magnum loads it is a dream to shoot! Own auto 9mm Springfield XD and Walther ppk/s 380. All new! XD shoots awsome, ppk kicks a little and will bite your hand if you aren't careful, the Smith is absolute wow!

The 686 + (7 shot) is one heck of a nice gun. In the craze for automatics I went and purchased my Smith.
No regrets! In fact I may not have purchased the others if I had purchased this one first! At 25 yards on a silouhete target with either 38 special (158 gr hp)or .357 magnum (125 gr hp) a 2" to 3" spread (head shot) was all I had ( I am a novice to handguns). I love my springfield 9mm(4" service) but I so far have not been able to do that at 25 yds. The Smith to me is the modern day equivalent of the Colt Python which I shot when I was 15 and was dead on at 25 yds.

Stainless Steel, American made, good grips and good sights right from the factory. The whole gun feels solid! 7 shots is great! Your asking yourself Did I shoot 6? or .... No problem when it goes click with no bang you are probably there. However don't be a dumb ass as I was and let a salesman tell me that 380 super +p would work just fine! It did fire, no jams but I have several unspent rounds to donate! Auto and revolver don't mix! You cannot go wrong with this gun it will elevate your accuracy to a new level. And don't worry Magnum loads in this gun are fun!!!!!!!!!
